NEPTUNE

Donated by a citizen to the Municipality of Martinsicuro, the sculpture of Neptune on the north pier was created as a tribute to the local maritime tradition, which dates back to Roman times.

Crafted from Maiella stone, it develops into an imposing half-bust, adapted to the natural shape of the block.

The braided beard recalls Abruzzo decorations and becomes a moving wave.

The figure, reaching upward, symbolizes a sea struggling to re-emerge, also in an ecological sense.
