GIRARDENGO

Conceived by director Alessandro Luci, the work pays homage to Costante Girardengo, a champion of the early twentieth century.

Inspired by an episode on the Cinque Miglia plain, where the cyclist decided to stop against all pressure, the sculpture portrays him seated, with his limbs crossed to form an "X," in a gesture of conscious pause.

Created after the lockdown and supported by a collective fundraiser, the work invites us to rediscover the value of stopping, beyond the logic of performance.
